Crested Geckos

Correlophus ciliatus

Crested geckos have these hair-like projections found above the eyes and do not have eye lids, so they can often be seen licking off debris. They also have a prehensile tail (can hold on to things) and can drop off in defense. If this falls it does not grow back! They are an arboreal species, meaning they like to live above, and are crepuscular (active during the night or day). They can vary in weight as an adult and reach sexual maturity around 15 to 18 months of age.
