The FireHouse Legacy
My name is Daren and I currently work as a Firefighter/Engineer in Florida and have been since 2002. I have always had a love for reptiles starting at a very young age. Growing up in Miami, I was often outside searching for any creature I could find. In early 2015, I bought my son his first reptile, a Dalmatian Crested Gecko which he named Freckles. One day my son asked if we could breed Freckles. Being a ‘Reptile Enthusiast’ my whole life I had never bred before. So together with my son we began to research, and learned as much as possible about the process. Together we found a ready to breed female that we named Dottie, and in early 2018 we successfully hatched two amazing Dalmatian Crested babies. With all the research we do about the New Caledonia Gecko species; we definitely feel a greater understanding and respect for these reptiles.
With this background and our ongoing research, we hope to further our breeding projects. So far this journey of meeting and learning from many Reptile Breeders and ‘Enthusiasts’ along with my son has been an amazing experience. I can not wait to see what the future holds for Firehouse Geckos LLC.
